About Me
Some people look at what others shoot and try to mimic it,
I look at something and shoot what I see. I have been a photographer since my mom handed me my first camera at the young age of ten. Ever since then, photography has been my favorite method of documenting my memories, remembering birthdays, holidays, and indescribable moments in our family's lives. I come from a long-formed traditional family of die-hard photographers. From a grandmother that is never without a camera, a grandfather who is permanently attached to a video camera, and a family that continuely call upon their cameras as if they were the oxygen from their lungs . I have admired and played with the very different styles my mom and sisters exhibit as photographers. "My photographic style borrows from the journalistic approach to everyday life. I don't believe in encrouching upon the events that I photograph. From a casual portrait to the most important day of a brides life, I prefer to photograph from the distant standpoint of an individual who is privy to the delicate moments of natural life, for they are the most geniune." I shoot a variety of photographic styles, mixing photojournalistic and traditional methods. My favorite events are infant portraits, children and family portraits, senior portraits, and weddings. I love fashion/high art photography because people are more open to being creative in those environments. Where there are people, I find immense enjoyment. I am always excited to hear the stories behind the photograph and every picture leads to a fascinating story! Much love, Jennifer J. Hughes
