About Me

Hello.  My name is Robert White, and I am an artist and illustrator in Nashville, TN.  I have used live models for my work (professional and personal) for the last fifteen years, and prefer the results of using live models to simply creating my subjects from my imagination.  My favorite *personal* images are "fantasy" themes- fairies, mermaiden, princesses, witches, etc., but have done commercial art ranging from murals and t-shirt designs to logos and formal portraiture.  I'm forever looking for new models, and do not rely heavily on the "typical" model-type.  I seek beautiful women of ALL sizes- not just waif-thin and seven feet tall ("petite" ladies do make better fairies, but larger women are needed for painting mermaids, warrior goddesses, etc.).  Please keep in mind when viewing my work that it is ALL done by hand.  Photoshop and other graphics programs are ubiquitous in the art/illustration world these days, and it seems like any and everyone is "painting" photographs to look like real paintings and drawings, but my work is completely un-aided by computers and still done the old-fashioned way: by eye and hand.

I'm ESPECIALLY interested in "ethnic" models (whatever that's supposed to mean- EVERYBODY'S of some ethnicity!).  It has been much more difficult for me to find willing Mid-Eastern, East-Indian, and even Hispanic models than white or black.  Undoubtedly, this is because of the differences in cultures and attitudes toward non-religious or a-political images as "art".  Even Model Mayhem has a dearth of East Indian or Mid-Eastern models in my area.  But ever the optimist, I hold out hope...

I MUCH prefer to "friend" a model who is open to modeling nude even if I don't need that- it shows me, the potential client, that the model is willing to work and give what I, the client, may need.  Just something to think about, as I see a lot of desperation for work from "up and coming" (read: green) models.  The more open your mind is, the more work that will follow.

My preferred method of contact is to e-mail me at [email protected] .    Thank you for taking the time to look at my work, and I hope that you appreciate it!
