About Me

Are we to paint what's on the face, what's inside the face, or what's behind it? -- Pablo Picasso

Some photographers love film.  They manipulate in the darkroom and use papers to create an other-reality.  I use software.

Reality - is relative.  Like in Rashomon - what one sees is subjective.

My natural bias is to create a reality more beautiful than what I've known.  Shadows and soft, saturated color.  I also value mystery in pictures.  It adds depth and may leave the viewer with more of a question than a regular picture does.

For TFCD or print, I am happy to provide you with fairly straight images where Photoshop and other software are used sparingly – just to correct flaws or distortions.

I also believe that actors/models should play against type.  We can talk about this idea - but, I believe that what is less obvious is more alluring.

I also like to have fun.  Shoots don’t have to be stressful.  Art should be playful.

If interested - send me an e-mail here or at [email protected].
