Mariam El Mofty (1983, Cairo) is a photographer based in Cairo
with a backgound in Political Science and Islamic Arts and
Architecture.  Mofty embarked into photography after graduating from The American University in Cairo in 2004. 

In the past, Moftys work reflected Travel and Islamic Architecture; as well as nature concepts, such as: reflections, florals and silhouettes.  Recently, she realized a growing passion for portrait photography.  Her work portrays people on an intimate level, where viewers can relate to the moment, expression or subject. Mofty is more fond of using daylight as a main tool rather than the use of artificial light; she enjoys making the best out of the avaliable  conditions for creating emotive portraits.

Mofty is currently studying at the London College of Communication, a Postgraduate Diploma in Photography Practice, in London.
