About Me

In my work, I am searching for the feeling of a dream; the sound of a woman singing, waves of magenta, gold and green careening over her skin. I seek the line between chaos and order; the place where the unreal and the ordinary coalesce and the commonplace becomes extraordinary again.

I inject ink into water, recording image after image as cohesion is lost to entropy. Within a system of chaos, order arises. Somewhere is the boundary.

I photograph nude figures draped in shadow, the camera relentlessly capturing the reality of form; harsh, unforgiving.

Slowly, meticulously, I begin to weave the images together. I use the shapes of the ink to stencil out sections of the figures and illuminate swathes of skin with colors unconstrained by expected forms, blending the harshness of reality into a dream.

Dreams take reality for granted, and having done so envelop us in the extraordinary. Through this process I restore wonder at the commonality of our bodies; render magnificent the way we view each other by transforming them into dreams.
