My #1 goal for every shoot is for you to be comfortable and have a good time. Yes, it's work, but i enjoy it tremendously and want you to also. When successful, the pictures we make will be a unique presentation of the real you.

For the remainder of 2010, I will be concentrating on analog photography with 35mm Kodachrome 64. There is only one processing lab in the country (Dwayne's Photo, Parsons, Kansas) that still processes Kodachrome film, and they are shutting down their line on December 30, 2010. I have about 400 exposures of Kodachrome that need to be exposed and processed by then.

I'm also very into shooting Polaroid instant film. I have been acquiring expired film on eBay. The quality of the exposures varies widely depending on how the film was stored. Sometimes I get junk, sometimes it's quite artistic. I'm also shooting an instant film called Edge Cut Softtone, which has been manufactured by an organization called The Impossible Project (http://www.the-impossible-project.com/). although the original pictures are rather small 3" x 3" I have scanned them as large as 30" at 240dpi. I have also purchased Genuine Fractals software which is designed to increase image size while maintaining tone color and detail.

Before the weather goes all crummy I prefer to shoot outdoors. both the Kodachrome and the Polaroid seem to do better in natural light.

I do bring my digital gear to all shoots, and if Polaroids aren't going well I'll shoot straight digital.

The type of image I try to make depends a lot on the model and setting. I work kind of like Joel Meyerowitz used to: just hang out, pay attention to the person and environment, and see what happens.
