About Me

Greetings and welcome to my Model Mayhem profile.

My name is Eric Lowenberg.

I just completed a major overhaul and upgrade to my portfolio September 2015. New images will be added soon. Hope you enjoy.

I began shooting professionally in 1983. I photographed and designed major print media projects through the early 1990s when other business interests took way too much time away from where my passion and interests are.

In early 2009, I began to rebuild a current body of work. The first model that I hired from Model Mayhem was Kari Marie (MM# 390875) who flew from Ohio to shoot with me in San Francisco during June of 2009.

My portfolio is always evolving and developing. I shoot mostly for commercial projects and gallery art prints now.

I always pay models a very fair daily rate in addition to all travel expenses if you travel to shoot with me. I have flown models to San Francisco from around the US and as far away as Germany. You will always be provided a nice private hotel room. meals, airfare etc when travel is involved.

I am a professional and will treat you accordingly. I have excellent references from the models I have worked with. I do require a commercial model release be signed.

Because most of my shootings are for commercial projects or clients, I normally can not provide images from the shoot to you. It is more likely you will receive tear sheets in the future.

Looking through my portfolio on Model Mayhem will give you an idea of my style. I create my best images shooting outdoors with natural light. With no slight intended to Profoto and Speedotron who make excellent equipment, I long ago discovered my favorite light source is created by the forcible compaction of hydrogen into helium atoms. Careful positioning of my models 93 million miles from my light source yields dramatic results.
