After 40 years as a stereographic photographer it looks as if there are many new commercial opportunities. I can shoot very high resolution 3D for stills or video. All images can be in 2D as well. There is a bunch of work going on in Virtual Reality right now and over the next 18 months we should see some fantastic products. Facebook invested $2.2B in Oculus Riff ( https://www.oculus.com/rift/ ) for example.

These images will all work on the 3D HD TVs that are on the market as well as being viewable on computers and others using special glasses.
