About Me

I have been an active professional for nearly 20 years, including studio and location work. I have taken a step back from the traditional photographer-for-hire model, however, to pursue my first passion, which is music, so most photography I do these days is in support of my music releases. That said, here are three great reasons you should work with me:

1. We will create evocative images based on creative concepts, rather than traditional beauty standards. These will stand out in your portfolio against the fashion and glamour images that our industry requires. These images will say something. They will show potential clients that you have a broad range of talents.

2. I release a new track every two to four weeks, these tracks need artwork, and as often as possible I use images of models I have worked with. Not only does this lead to the usual exposure, but (depending on our specific agreement) I can also have my distributor automatically send royalty payments to you based on streaming and sales.

3. I am used to working with a broad range of models, so whether you are just beginning, or a seasoned professional, we will come up with a concept that fits your current abilities. We can easily create concepts for 'classic' as well as so-called 'alternative' models.

I also have a few caveats:

1. I work in two locations, my own home in Vancouver, WA, and a studio in Portland OR. Both are strictly non-smoking locations, and I trust you will be respectful of this.

2. I have never had a problem with a model bringing an escort to a session, but please let me know if you plan to do so, and whether they are available to assist with the shoot.

3. The more we communicate, the better. I will respond quickly and thoroughly to your questions and comments, and I am counting on you to do the same. Sometimes things click and a quick improvised session happens with little to no discussion, but that is the exception, not the rule. For the most part, our best work will happen when we are as thorough as possible with our questions and concerns before the shoot.

"I connected with David via Model Mayhem and we set up a photo shoot that worked best with my schedule as he was very flexible. He was very personable and communicated well what he was expecting of me. I arrived at his studio which is conveniently located just off of the I-205. His studio is located in the garage of his house and it is contains the latest equipment such as proper studio lighting (strobes and floods), a backdrop system, and a heavy duty tripod." Read less
