"I really enjoyed this shoot. It as very different from the others. He has a unique style of photography that focuses on taking fewer pictures but making sure that more are keepers. It reminds me a lot of film photography and its cool to try that style of modeling. I had a good time and the pictures are really different. It was a really great experience and he helps suggest and plan poses and made me feel totally comfortable so if you're new or nervous you should definitely give this a go. "Very professional and friendly and I felt comfortable with Horst. He was very patient with my hectic schedule when I had to reschedule with him and he was understanding when I arrived late as it was my first time driving to Hamilton as a new driver! I appreciate that immensely! On another note, I would say his style of photography is more commercial and basic. His opinions on what looks good are a little old school so this caused some creative differences that showed in some of the photos. One thing I noted was that he prefers if you look happy and up beat in most of your pictures like a commercial and didn't seem to understand when I was playing around with different facial expressions such as sensual, serious, passionate, arrogant, looking down/away etc. However there were some diamonds in the rough and I found that the shots and poses we agreed on together came out fabulously! I've never had a shoot quite like this but I'm grateful because it helped me learn that perhaps not everyone values the same ideas of beauty in the modelling industry. This shoot allowed me to keep a constant reminder to be a little more open minded to different styles and ideas. I think Horst is great for people just starting to build their portfolio or have not found their own style yet. He has a lot of ideas and he is fantastic for starting your portfolio with quality and professional shots. Thanks Horst! Glad we got some great photos out of our session! Keep doing what you love!"
