So I would like to do a shower effect, but the studio does not have a shower. Anybody done this? If so, please explain how (including how you collected the water around the model).

NEVER TRIED. . . but you can get a decent size kiddie pool on ebay cheap.  You can also get a pump made for ponds on ebay or in a pet store (not so cheap- $100 for a strong enough one), or there's always a ladder and a watering can.

I once poked a few holes into the bottom of a 2L coke bottle and used it like a watering can...

It depends a bit on what effect you're trying to create.

Coat the model with baby oil and mist on water with a spray bottle, it will bead up.

If you want to do a full shower set...remember if you are working around any electrical...keep away from lighting units...everything from plastic to placing your units in other section of the studio. I had done a fully functioning shower with running water.....lots of extention cables from other area of set.....always always check stuff before you plug anything
