Quick question for all.
How many of you enter photo contests?
Would you pay for one that had a decent
prize.  If so how much?

A lot of the photo magazines have contests for some not-so-bad goodies.  I've entered a couple for sh*ts and giggles.

But I would not entry even a juried contest if I had to pay a fee.  Unless there was a chance to recoup the cost through the exposure of just entering.

guess ran one last year and i entered the requested three 11x14s...then i thought, 'hey, thats a slick way for guess to canvas new ideas and then do the campaign themselves."
well, i've lived in nyc 30 years so i felt like a sucker when i thought that!
the upside, it was good practice and there was a very very extremely remote chance i'd be picked.
1st prize was to shoot an ad for them.
the mere possibility of meeting megan ewing was definitely worth it!
