Then none of you have experienced the drama that goes on in the fora of net-model.com. (However, I have never been in any of the fora listed above)

From what i have seen so far with the poor quality of people on this site, I have to say these forums are horrible.

It's still in its infancy....I'd give it the benefit of the doubt. Time will tell.

I hope you're right. I've already talked to a few photographers who want to leave due the jerks on here. Now if there was an IGNORE button, these idiots can disappear from my screen.

Posted by Alexandra Paris: I've already talked to a few photographers who want to leave due the jerks on here. Well, there are still several people around who apparently have more ego and time to spend typing than anything else. They're slowly being weeded out though. I kind of wish users would be restricted to only one profile. There's one egomaniac that has at least 3 profiles. Well, they're all different "companies" run by the same guy. I guess it takes that many when you're busy changing the game.

I have to say solo models has the most boreing forums... this site has great forums, yes there are a lot of jerks... people just gotta ignore the drama instead of stiring it up.

Usenet, rec.photo.techniques.people used to be pretty horrible, but I haven't been there in years and years. I wasn't a big fan of models.com either.

I have never been on a forum before Mayhem.. But to some of my models it was a second job.. They get home and thats all they talk about!! It wasnt a nice scene.. Dont know how i got in this one!! Give Tyler a break!! Nobody has attempted anything like this before!! This site is too good just to quit because of some porn!! slipping by the filter! I have seen Fuc*in pics on every model site they slip through! Jerks!! well i dislike Jerks!! also.. Think im gonna quit because of something someone says to me!? The Mayhem Team would all have to be Jerks to make me leave.. And so far they have gotten right on every Major problem!! So i am just gonna keep Posting-Shouting-and enjoying the best site i have ever been on!!

LOL. You and Reese are the BEST! I was afraid to get on chat on omp...still am. This place is still small enough. If one looks at the right threads, there is still a lot of substance there.

Dumb arrogant jerks always ruin it for me ... and they're EVERYWHERE.... These guys also have the MOST free time to sit on the computer and (a) stir up sh*t (b)insult others (c)belittle people and offer stupid and un-informed opinions on everything. (I guess they're not busy taking photos are they?) But I haven't posted in MANY different kinds of forums primarily because I get disgusted easily by stupid and immature posts. I don't need the Internet to get my blood boiling. I deal with that in real life all the time. Besides, as a working photographer, I don't have the TIME to waste dealing with those particular "trolls". I NEVER blame the board though. It's not the creator's fault. It's a thankless job and they're just the landlords, it's the customers that are trouble. I do appreciate when someone tries to create something that will be helpful to the photographer/modeling community. I do think there should be stricter codes of conduct just so that the majority of the members don't have to suffer for the immature behavior of a few.

If one looks at the right threads, there is still a lot of substance there. Lapis and anyone else who may be reading this who feels like Lapis. PLEASE DO NOT BE AFRAID TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY FORUM ANYWHERE! I know it's easier said than done, but if you feel intimidated to get on a certain forum because of the "strong" personalities, or because of the hurtful things they might say to you, or about you, proceed with only two words in your head, "FUCK 'EM!". They don't know you. They don't pay your bills. They don't know your work history. They don't know your accomplishments and failures. They don't know what holds you up during the day, or what puts you down at night. They don't know, or carry your burdens. They don't know, or own your responsibilities. They don't know what you're made of. They don't know your fears, worries, dreams, goals, nor do they own any bit of you. But, most of all they don't know jackshit about you enough to be able to make any false and or negative comment stick and stigmatize, or traumatize you, and make you lose your friends, family, co-workers, etc. They're only effective when *your* mind tells you that they've won and or owned you. Use mind over matter. If you're afraid to participate, because you believe you might make a fool out of yourself and others will capitalize on it, just remember the above "they don't" statements and then the F'Em mantra. You, just like everybody else deserves a spot on the Internet and the benefits of being online and especially the freedom to express honesty as you see fit and, or wisdom as you've learned and experienced. If you let the "jerks" coerce you into being silent, then you are dishonoring every person in history who was ever been shot, stabbed and murdered for having opened their mouths about something worth saying. If you choose to remain silent about anything and everything then you are just contributing to all the shady, mean, nasty and unfair things people and corporations get away with and have gotten away with. It's only when you speak up, the bad things that ever bothered you in life, or in whatever Industry you've bled for start to change for the better. DO NOT LET THE JERKS DISSUADE YOU FROM USING A PRIVILEGE PEOPLE FOUGHT AND DIED TO PROTECT. I am serious Jack! The only time you should ever feel like keeping your mouth closed is when your mind tells you that it is politically correct, or strategically wise to do so, or when you've felt that you've said all that you had to say. Other than that, no one has any business suggesting you stay in a corner shut up. *steamed that you and others feel afraid to participate!* Just remember. EVERYBODY brings something valuable to the table. Whether that person is an Amateur, Professional, Semi-Pro, retarded...whatever! EVERYONE adds value. If I were to leave this site, or OMP, it's because more and more people were starting to feel like you and not participate. That would be my only reason for leaving any site.

I hope MM can "cut the mustard" ....now that certain members have been banned..(some more than once)... Speaking of "trolls"..It sounds to me like you are describing dpreview.com ;-) Back before the 10D body was introduced, that site was once very cool! Now days.....Golly! It's impossible to be rightfully critical of something without a fan base of idiots and trolls jumping on the band wagon trying to out you as the troll!! I don't contribute to MM as much as I did before because of some rif raf crap...there are people who contribute here, only to mess with those who are ethical, professional, and take this seriously...while they are proud to be unprofessional, & unethical..and give the rest of us a bad name.. I just hope this forum will pull together, and push away those sort of folks.....much like how the body naturally expells waste! ;-) JP

That is horrible that people have to be rude to each other just for the sake of meaness. How hard is it just to not comment. Oh well, I suppose if not for the jerks how could you recognize the rest of us. Musecube is totally dead
