I'm hoping anyone in the Nikon crowd might be able to give me a bit of insight as to what's ailing my Nikon F65. I just got it used, and purchased a AF Magnicon lens for it, but it refuses to take photos or focus.

The LED flashes this:

"F--"

The lens I purchased is autofocus as I know this model can't meter with older lenses. I'm a little perplexed as what the issue may be. Anyone have any insight?

Thanks.

The "F--" indicates that there is not F stop to read/measure.

Either your contacts are screwed or your camera won't accept this lens.

Thanks for the input. Guess the little fella will take a trip to the shop.

Well, there are numerous issues that I found out. Body works fine in manual mode, but the shutter trigger needs replacing. The lens is also not compatible with the body as it's too old in terms of autofocus.

Thanks for the help. I'm going to lend this to a friend who is just starting photography as her teacher has said she needs a manual camera, and that's what this thing does perfectly.
