A little about what to expect, who should come, and what to bring:

Who? These meet & greets are a fun and informal way to get to know Philadelphia area professionals and amateurs.  This isn't a competition or a place for attitude, this is just for fun and networking.  If you're brand new to the area, be prepared to meet dozens of the area's most active photographers and models.  If you've been around for ages, come on by and take a close look at that model or photographer you've been thinking of working with... introduce yourself, and show your work.

Bring your books and promotional materials! This is important.  Many people attend these events and not only will you get to see how other people react to your work for real, you'll also get job offers and advice.  Also these events are partially controlled by those who attend.  Bring what you want!  You want to shoot on seamless? Bring it!  You want to have a beer? Bring it!  You want to have some munchies?  Bring 'em!  We have two freight elevators... just about anything goes...

What should you expect? You should expect to have fun and you should expect to get out of it what you put in to it.  Introduce yourself to 10 new people and you'll have made 10 new friends.  Sit in a corner and people watch... it's fun!  Toss your book out on the table and ask for a critique... YOU'LL GET ONE!  Pull out your camera or put on a special outfit and grab a photographer... plenty to shoot and plenty of people willing to shoot.  We haven't yet had a problem of people not wanting to shoot and being forced to, and we haven't ever had a problem with models just coming to show their book and not to shoot.


This particular event has a theme... and that theme is Welcome to the awards show.  If you'd like to play along, bring a gown or dress up in your tux and tie.  Be prepared to enter the red carpet shooting area and have the 'paparazzi' shot the heck out of you.  Don't want to be shot?  Don't go on the red carpet.  You make it what you want... we're flexible.

hey its costume for me considering fishnets are a part of my everyday attire!  I think its been like 6 years since i wore a formal gown!
