My boyfriend is looking to buy a new camra and wants one that will last a long time with out troubles  yet also given pro. photos.
I wanted to find out what all  of you think.

IMHO it's the best introductory digital SLR you can buy new.  Compared to some p&s digitals it's pricey, but it's really a helluva camera.  I have the 300D (older ver) and a 20D (one step up from this one) and from what I hear this camera splits the difference.  My feeling is that Canon is the leader in Digital SLRs.
