Well, as my studio strobes are in transit, and I had a shoot booked for this Sunday... I used what was available at the site I was shooting at.

Thoughts?

I work with a photographer who refuses to invest in photography lighting because he says his contruction worklights are just as good. I was hesitant at first, but after seeing the images he can produce I would have to agree... he rocked those construction lights.

It looks like you did also.  smile  Nice shot.

I'll do so tonight.  All I did was darken the brick, and a tiny bit of USM.

did you boost your iso or shoot on a tripod at like 1/10th of a second?

Ghetto lighting is not bad, you just need to know how to work with it to get the result you are looking for. I usually work with 2 strategically placed floods.

Thank you, this is what I was driving at. But I would like to have some high-end stuff. I just can't afford it right now.

Shot at ISO100, no tripod.

Fast lens + 'Super Steadyshot' = happy me.

I use the lights I have custom made for my painting & sculpting.  These are daylight tuned energy saver lights unlike the construction lights which give off a lot of heat.  They work great and they're simple for some indoor photography, though much of my work is based in natural lighting.  In my humble opinion, its about creativity and being resourceful in terms of what you are trying to achieve.  Whether you have a state-of-the-art studio or just a handful of bare necessity, the bottomline is a the final result.

Great job! I tell people all the time they don't need really high end equipment to take amazing pictures! smile Poor people like us still seem to do a fine job! big_smile

It isn't the equipment, it is the talent, that makes a photographer!

The photo came out great. I think it says alot about your ability to work under those circumstances to produce an amazing glamour shot. You rock.

I'm probably going to build a set up using energy saver lights and homemade softboxes & diffusers until I can save money for a real set up...
