I almost bought that book case last year. lol. Of course, I have since moved to Tampa. Problem is, there won't be an Ikea here till 2009!! *cries* .... and I'm in the process of furnishing a home here, too. sad

you can buy it online.  only drawback being shipping cost.  but still, probably cheaper than going to even a low cost place like walmart or target.

Not so much. I wish. There is one in Orlando. I'm dying for an IKEA fix so badly, I'm about to get a U-Haul and drive to Orlando to shop. I kid you not. *hangs head in shame, while slyly smiling*

why not just BUILD a $20 bookcase that may last a few years from real wood...?

the ikea one will take me 15 minutes to put together.

building one will take me at least 2.5 hours (if not more) sizing and cutting wood, drilling holes, painting, drilling, etc etc.  no thanks.  I'd rather watch TV.

Everything I've gotten from IKEA has held up really well, except for one of the really cheap laundry hampers, which I put so much weight into that it tore in one spot at the stitching. That was my bad. lol

Yeah, it is. I loved the dishes I bought there (cents a piece), and the candles (big ones for a couple of bucks), the long-necked desk lamps ($12/ea), and laundry hampers ($3/ea), and so much more. I'm definitely going to at least hit the Orlando IKEA next time I'm out there, to get all the little stuff I need to replace since moving to Florida. Moving a house 3k miles isn't worth the cost of shipping. wink

Yup, just got the $3 clothes hamper and something like this...

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60057098

cept mine was 9 bucks - 18 pieces.

everytime I go there, I find new stuff to buy I didn't need.

I just bought from drawers from there.

They SUCK.

The shit slants to the side, and I know I didn't do anything wrong because the girl I built it with used to work there and puts the stuff together for fun.

The only thing better than going to the theme park that is Ikea is putting the furniture together when you get home.  Better than Lincoln Logs!

I have a red chair from Ikea, some tall glasses and tealights. Honestly though that place gives me a headache.

I want stuff, I just don't like shopping for it. Unless it's art supplies. I love art supply stores.  I just can't afford all the stuff I want.

I have the Nardluk, some Svendlors, and a few Korkams. I'm saving up for a Pusli with the Glarflug attachment.

Great clean Scandinavian lines and design and yet it's cheap and you can throw it away when you move.

Although the do actually have some nicer furniture. If it's more than $300, chances are it will last.

Plus the Swedish meat balls and lingonberry sauce!!!!
