Of course we could go count number of posts on normal pages and then count how many here... but that would require effort.  Much more fun this way.

Oh didn't even notice that. FTW  I would say something like "It was too short for him to mess up" but then he would take it as a challenge to write the shortest misspelled complete sentence.

It would have only been misspelled if you were trying to notate the number 'z'

How was the movie? was it as epileptic fit inducing as the trailers promised?

Quite possibly.  And in IMAX it was downright surreal.

I liked it, although not quite as much as Iron Man.  I had a bit of trouble stylistically with the overuse of flashbacks (in my opinion of course, I just have a really low tolerance whatever the media for "lets stop the narrative in its tracks and mentally go over how I got to this point") but visually the film is absolutely stunning.  The Wachowski's had a vision and they went all out with it and for me it worked.  Some of the racing action got a little muddled, I think intentionally, and frankly if NASCAR was more like the WRL I think it would have even more fans.  I mean, any racing sport that consists mostly of drifting and spinning on raised tracks (sometimes over the crowd) at speeds around 500 MPH (if I heard the units right during one scene), considers ramming to be perfectly acceptable tactics and includes jump pistons as standard equipment has a LOT of potential.  smile

IMAX no less?  Hmm, somehow I doubt I will be seeing this film, though I am going to try to get a free moment with 3M to go see Iron Man together sometime in the next week.  Heard lots of good things about that.

Y'all have fun!  I'll be stuck in a large room watching people unpack anime-related merchandise.  Hopefully I'll be able to get a net connection and join y'all that way.

Bills Elbow is out, they scheduled a party of 25 in there at 6:30 over top of my reservation, i believe they paid to have the room.

So we are screwed.

Anyone have any ideas for a last minute change of venue?

In fact who is going?

I can offer space for this one, but it is in Kissimmee...  Seriously, the room won't be particularly quiet but it is space...

I have to be there anyway to keep an eye on the room, but we can use the front part of the room (see room layout I was thinking we could fit where the red tables are since those will NOT be used until Friday).

Edit: and lest you fear, it is NOT a small room.  For scale booths are 8x9 and the poles are 30' apart.

What about an Olive Garden or Steak & Ale??

I don't know of an Olive Garden that has a private room... steak & ale has lots of little rooms but not sure if we can snag a whole one.

There is Denny's back room though, it won't be perfect but i know they even have wireless, it just has a filter and bumps you every 30 mins or something.

Heck we could even go back and find a panera.

I guess i'll just have to make an executive decision?

Tad, thank you for offering space at Jcon? but kissimmiee is a bit far away for most of us for a 2 hour meeting.

I may be wrong about that, if people voice a desire to go there, i will be glad to be proved wrong.

this is cross posted from the OMG thread.

Check out one of the major malls. Each has a community room that can be used for purposes such as ours.

JACON.  smile

No problem, just thought I would offer.  It was an ideal solution from my point of view.  I can see why you wouldn't want to be KPCaaAC (Kissimmee Photographic Critique at an Anime Convention).

I like the roadhouse idea, meeting at the mall seems slightly creepy to me, like we should all be wearing trench coats and nothing else.  I'm too old to be a mallrat smile
