Read the book.  You'll be sobbing.

Is this a fantasy story or is it based in reality? It sounds like fantasy, and that's my fave.

It's about two mis fit kids who create their own fantasy world and some other sad stuff, but it's great.  Read the book. smile

It's not a thing like Harry Potter.

If you want that kind of fantasy, go for the His Dark Materials series.

I was a lot like those kids when I was that age, except I kept my fantasy worlds indoors. So I guess it hit home for me.

Love the movie, but damn it needs a disclaimer. I thought it was going to be rainbows and sunshine through the whole thing!

LOL. Oh yeah, they marketed it to seem like the fantasy films that are making it big right now, but that's really not what the story is about at all.

seriously, I have been engrossing myself in sad/horror/and drama so much lately I got the movie as something to watch at work tonight, and wanted a change to a cute, happy story,  and it just hits like a bomb. It makes you feel like a kid again, takes you back into your own life and memories and then throws you completely off balance.
