I have been trying to come up with the "Guy With Camera (GWC)-equivalent" for models.

Weeks ago, someone posted that the equivalent should be GWA (Girls With Aspirations).

But that is not accurate because the word "aspirations" gives them too much credit. "Aspirations" are a good thing. "Snapshots" are appropriately condescending.

I think "Chick With Snapshots" (CWS) is accurate, funny and totally dead-on.

So, since I am the self-appointed Model Mayhem King of Sarcasm (along with Queen Theda) I hereby decree that from this day forth, CWS is the official model-equivalent of GWC.

Chick With Snapshots, meet Guy With Camera. Go make beautiful family photo albums together.

Nope. Sorry. "Cameraphone" is too specific. "Snapshots" is a more broad term and can encompass cameraphone shots.

Nope. Sorry. "Pics" is too general. Good images can still be "pics" too. "Snapshots" is a little more precise in describing the sub-par style of photo.

Nope. Sorry. Just like "cameraphone" above, the term "webcam" is too specific. Again, "snapshots" is a more broad term and can encompass webcam shots.

I appreciate the feedback. But Melvin still wins with "Chicks With Snapshots." Remember, GWCs do not take "webcam" shots or "pics" or "cameraphone" pictures. GWCs take snapshots. Hence, CWS is the best, most accurate term.

yes, they had bodies before i thought of it. but the point is to make an analogy to a guy with camera, he's just a guy with a camera, but that doesn't make him a photographer, he brings the camera but not the talent, vision or knowledge. a girl who only has snapshots isn't a parallel to that. a guy bringing a camera to the game but not the rest of the requisite skills is bringing the bare necessity of being a photographer only, a camera. which is akin to a "model" who only brings the bare necessity of being a model, herself, even if she doesn't have what it takes. whether she only has snapshots or not is beside the point, that just means she hasn't worked with good shooters yet. the whole issue is silly of course, but if we're going to talk about it lets be logical
