Since I photograph a lot of goth models, I am constantly amused by their pseudonyms. It's all very funny to me.

I once met a guy with some website that was some silly "www" about Satan. And I laughed when he gave me his business card and said, "That's cute."

He got really insulted and indignant. I didn't know how else to react. I mean ... it was cute. Almost amusing. Cheeky. I thought it was funny. How did he expect me to react? I mean, it was cheesy as hell. When a guy wearing nailpolish hands you a card with a Satan reference in the URL, how do you not laugh?

So, I got to thinking, what if some legitimate mainstream models adopted gothic pseudonyms? I went to one of those "Goth Name Generators" online and this is what it gave me:

Cindy Crawford = Vicious Mistress
Elle MacPherson = Vicious Tongue
Kate Moss = Beautifully Decayed
Helena Christensen = Velvet Kisses
Christy Turlington = Beautiful Scars
Stephanie Seymour = Midnight Fantasy (you bet your ass she is...)
and my favorite -
Tyra Banks = Mummified Corpse

I have a friend who's horse is named Velvet Kisses.  Damn horse is worth more than all my equipment, including my computer and my car, combined.

I had a pseudonym once...
I had a few bands.  "Angell of Death" (yes, 2 l's).  I sang... I was Nikki Angell.  When that died we bacame "Agnostic Death".  Then "Strider and the 2 of Hearts"... that band kicked ass - we only sang love songs with ridiculous titles like "Electric Girlfriend", and "I am the Pheonix".  Fucking great times.
I don't get to be Nikki Angell anymore.
Except when I get lost at the Wal-Mart.  My girl has them page Nikki Angell... then she doesn't have to be embarassed at them calling my real name over the intercom.

"Mummified Corpse" is the best, although it might be slightly more appropriate for Kate Moss or one of the other waif types.

I think I need more pretentious pseudonym. This one might be too obscure. Maybe I'll have a contest with fabulous prizes like those porceline dogs they used to have on Wheel of Fortune.

Okay. That is one of the funniest things I've read on any of these forums.

I love that you have enough of a sense of humor about yourself that you would point that out to people.

But, you know, "Rats Ear" would be pretty darned goth of you.

I took my modeling name from my stage name. I used to do alot of cirkus sideshow stuff and with the cirkus stuff we all have silly names. When I was performing I was known as...

Nurse Hel Inferna the Molotov Cock-doll

This razor blade swallowing, fire swinging, nails-through-flesh pounding
side show temptress will even make you balloon animals

hehe tongue

"Theda" obscure? No way!!! Theda was a goddess and one of the sexiest most sexual women ever and if I had lived in her time I would have done anything in my power to marry her!!!

My initials before I got married actually spelled out the word RAG. I'm not sure what my pseudonym would be now, but when I was younger, my nickname was Rebel Ann...it fit very well.

You know, I always thought she was kind of funny looking. I've seen her only extant film and it really wasn't that impressive. The marketing of her pseudo-image was a lot more sensual and interesting than the woman herself. Still, many people have no idea who she was.

I just had to change the topic momentarily and say that I love pseudonyms....my most recently created ones are Art Fetish (my boyfriend insists I call him that now) and Phillip Lander. anyway, i love pseudonyms. mainstream or not, especially if they are double entedre'...want to write a novel where everybody's names are like the above. So, if anybody has any kind of pseudonymic info, send me an e-mail.

You're quite the CILF. (That's a chink-version of a MILF.)

And, I thought it was "Celtic Chink" not "Cheesy Chink" ...

How about "Gorgeous Goofy Gook"? That works too.
