Hi Everyone. I am doing three pageants and they require those severely retouched photos like the ones at: www.beckycarter.com and I had one retouched to look like the photos by a pageant retoucher and I posted it (Photo #1) I would just like some input. Should I have her change the background? Should I do a different shot? I was trying to avoid paying $700 for a shoot with a glitz photographer and then the other $700 in travel to get to middle america or down south from the east coast. Apr 01 08 08:32 am Link take a photo of a doll. thats the closest someone can get to the photos on that site. you got close though... brighten it a bit. https://www.modelmayhem.com/po.php?thread_id=266956 Apr 01 08 08:38 am Link That site is scary! Please PLEASE tell me those little girls eyebrows are retouched and not actually plucked! Looks like you've got it pretty close though. The eyes look like a doll! Apr 01 08 08:44 am Link thank you, i agree Apr 01 08 08:44 am Link That image is horrible... Your pupils aren't even in the center of your eye. Apr 01 08 08:44 am Link some mothers wax the kids eyebrows and dye there hair and they wear fake teeth called flippers and are airbrush tanned and use hair extensions, im doing it as my own decision and they can be lucrative if u win but i agree that the kids who dont really know if they want to do it, shouldnt be forced Apr 01 08 08:46 am Link Why would a pageant require this kind of retouching? I mean seriously...You(or any of the kids on the site that you linked to), will not look that way when you walk up on a stage, so what is the point of doing it? In regards to the touch up, it looks flat and kind of splotchy(is that a word?) in spots. The edge around your hair does not blend into the background very well either. Sort of a distraction. Hope this helps Apr 01 08 08:48 am Link creepy! they all have the same nose... Apr 01 08 09:16 am Link If you want a good photo, you're just going to have to shell out the money. You get what you pay for and it shows in your picture. Apr 01 08 09:20 am Link This image doesn't have the smoothness of the others and isnt following the same style really. The background should change, should be much brighter. You should crop in way closer. There is no need to see the logo on your sweater. Over all the whole thing needs to be way brighter. Your cheeks to look splotchy and your eyes look like they belong to two different people looking in opposite directions..... i don't mean to sound harsh. This isnt a great style looking to mimic but if that's what you want, you've got a ways to go. Good luck. Apr 01 08 09:22 am Link can i show you a try? (using your photo?)
