Alternative to LiveBooks ?
I like the LiveBooks interface, but not the pricing. Anyone know of a similar service at a more reasonable price? Wm Apr 05 08 01:12 am Link Dont know if you a student but LiveBooks edu is a nice cheap alternative. You dont have to be in undergrad they except workshops as well. 99 a year and then a pricing plan to upgrade if you want Apr 05 08 01:14 am Link I'll review that again - thanks! Anyone else know of any other similar portfolio sites? Wm Apr 06 08 04:17 pm Link Not really sure about price differences but there is Zenfolio.com, go.pictology.com, bigblackbag.com to name a few. Good luck, Ryan Apr 06 08 04:30 pm Link The top two that have been repeatedly recommended at APA and ASMP seminars are Livebooks and http://www.bludomain.com/. One of the big selling points of Livebooks is the back end. It's very easy to organize your work. Be careful going with a student Livebooks site. If/when you move it to a non student site everything has to be redone. They do offer discounts for students on non student sites. Bludomain is a bit less expensive and can be hosted at places other than Bludomain. Livebooks is only hosted by Livebooks. Some sites wont work with Earthlink and Godaddy. I haven't seen the back end of a Bludomain site. Apr 06 08 05:02 pm Link if you go with blu, i would suggest you host wtih blu. there is big folio as well and portfoliosites i have a few blu templates, their customer service is ok, i have heard good things about big folio. Apr 06 08 05:05 pm Link Blu domain a No No...just check out the facebook page http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=4 … 009&v=wall also they have BBB Rating of "F" Zenfolio again charged you for every minor feature you add. Livebooks - u r right ; its too pricey for the solution they are offering. I recommend a relatively new service which is offering quite a cool features at an insanely low price. - Pixpa check out at --- http://www.pixpa.com They have the most extensive and big list of features at $9/mo. Feb 07 11 12:26 am Link Have you looked at Viewbook.com? I've been using it just for the galleries for over a year but you can also use it to make some very simple, clean looking sites. If you purchase a year in advance, you get two months for free, too, so that can reduce the cost. Their help desk is amazing, and they have really simple easy to use articles to teach you how to use the service. (For real. If I can understand them, anyone can.) Feb 07 11 03:57 am Link |
