I do not have Paint Shop Pro 8 handy but will try to talk you through it anyways.

CMYK is splitting the color channels of the image to Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black.  This is done to adjust one or more of the color channels for PRINTING.

Along the top menubar should be an option for IMAGE or COLOR and if you select that, there should be a further menu option called CHANNEL SPLITTING which will split RGB, CMYK, etc.

You should be able to.  I know it is available in Version 5 and most likely all versions since then.

Check the menu options for things you can do to the image...especially for color splitting.

It is a common feature and I'm about 99% certain it is available in Paint Shop Pro 8.

Does Paint Shop Pro support the CMYK color space?

  Details

  Answer
Paint Shop Pro does not support working directly in the CMYK color space.

Paint Shop Pro does have some support for CMYK color.

This support includes:

Channel Splitting - An image stores its color information in channels. The
information contained in the channels depends on the color method being used
to define the image. With Paint Shop Pro, you have three choices for
splitting the channels. One of these choices in CMYK. When you separate
these channels, Paint Shop Pro creates individual grayscale images that you
can edit for each color (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black).

To split the channels of your image into CMYK separations choose Colors >
Split Channel > Split to CMYK.

CMYK Conversion - In a CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) conversion,
Paint Shop Pro replaces the RGB (Red, Green, and Blue) colors you see on the
monitor with the CMYK colors used in printing. You can then print a separate
page for each CMYK color by selecting the CMYK Separations option in the
Page Setup dialog box. This is useful if you are using a print shop and
doing high-end printing.

Before printing the separations, configure the CMYK preferences to determine
how Paint Shop Pro handles the conversion from RGB to CMYK, and then save
these preferences in a file called a profile. Use the CMYK Conversion
Preferences dialog box to select the preferences.

CMYK preferences editing is intended for experienced graphics artists.  Jasc
Technical Support will be unable to assist you in setting up your CMYK
profiles.

To set your CMYK conversion preferences choose File > Preferences > CMYK
Conversion Preferences.

CMYK TIFF - Paint Shop Pro does save a CMYK TIFF file.  When you save this
file it will convert the image to a CMYK format.  You can then take this
file to your printer or a program that does support CMYK.  If you open the
image in Paint Shop Pro again, it will be converted to RGB for editing.

To save the CMYK TIFF file ,

1. Choose File > Save As
2. Choose Tagged Image Format (*.tif) from the Save As Type drop down menu.
3. Click Options and choose CMYK from the options available.
4. Click OK, then click Save.
