Hell, work him into the shoot - it normally costs big bucks to rent a character like that.  If he came to the shoot (no pun) on a low rider hawg, that would have made for even better photos.

Sometimes you just have to set aside your shoot list and wing it.

But you knew that.  ;-)

Actually, Mike was at the "Martial Arts and Chopper" shoot with both the Thompson and an M-16!  I have yet to post a photo of that.  Soon come! smile

I did not see my response show up on the thread; so, I'll try again.
Actually, Mike brought both the Thompson and an M16 to the Martial Arts and Chopper shoot that had Sarah kicking the bad biker dude.  I just haven't posted any of those photos, yet.   Soon come!  smile

So, what should I do with a chaperone who is wearing a skull-and-crossbones head scarf, a full Fu Manchu mustache, and is carrying a real Thompson submachine gun?

My MUA has me covered.

OMG, I can't believe this. What kind of fashion fauxpau idiot wears a skull-and-cross bone head scarf with a full Fu Manchu to a photo shoot?

Hellllooo, can we say 1972 yikes

I'd tell Mr. fashionably unconscious that unless he's gonna get with today’s fashion, he aient stepp'n foot in this studio, escort or not big_smile

And for that machine gun, unless it accessorizes his outfit, lose it wink

Hey, you can tell him, yourself, in person.  He's on his way to your place, carrying a violin case!  smile

Don't have any exact numbers, but I would expect it to be about the same as those who ride motorcycles in a photo studio!  smile

It was a beast getting that thing on the roof and back down, again.  It just barely shoehorned into the freight elevator, and that was the EASY part!

Hand him a grenade pin and start counting backwards from 9? Seriosly though a Thompson with dummy reciever will run you about $300 and only a fool would shoot in the open with a functional SMG.

Houston, we have a problem!
You're in a WORLD of hurt if you hand him the pin, especially if you let the spoon fly!!   smile

Go to www.mikesmachineguns.com.  He is part of a BIG group of machine gun collectors, and he fires that Thompson on a regular basis.  I have shot it, and some of the models have, too--on full auto.  Look at my photo of "L.A." firing a burst.

I'de ignore the model and photograph the escort. Obviously he's the one in need of attention, the one who brought the cool props, and the one with more personality... I said MORE personality, not normal, or socially acceptable.. just.. more.

Seriously has anyone read through this thread and NOT wanted to see a photograph of this chaparone?

Look at my portfolio, maybe he's in there!

(there you go Steve, that's my cheap dig to get people to look at my work!)

In the late 80's I was walking through the seedy streets (do they even exist now?) of Las Vegas just off the strip shooting 3 models in pin stripped (Armani) suits all thugged out for the era with each carrying real Thompsons (pins removed).

I had 4 cops drive past without even the hint of interest!!!!!!!

I wonder what would happen TODAY?!!!

Too cool, Steven!  Hey, do it.  I'll bet you could get the cops to help, in Vegas!

I would tell him he looks great for the pic, then I'd say, "No dude, gimme the gun, hold it like this", and then point it to his head and Open Fire!

Problem solved!

Say it's a nice gun and ask if you could play with it.
