I wanna play with your lights!!!! Actually I have some Arri 650's that I use....I mostly shoot with strobes, but I adore hot lights.

I am very envy of your Mole Richardson collection lol. I only got one Mole 650W Tweenie II,  two little Dedolights and two big 1-2kW Arri fresnel spots. My first hotlight was a Dedolight 150W, it got me hooked and addicted on hotlights. I bought lots of Matthrews flags, Hollywood arms, grips, scrims and c-stands to use with them.

Hotlights are so much fun to use, so cuttable and controllable. I mix hotlights and strobes all the time.

I've made Soft Frost and Tough Frost screens from 12x12 inches to 4x6 feet that store inside each other. I can have any size source I need instantly.

The 4x6 simulates soft window light and keeps the heat off your subject. Great for 3/4 and full length.

I've never shot with hotlights till last week, they are absolutely amazing! What I want to know, is how many of you photographers use them - do you use them solely? Is there an alien bee version of hotlights... Would also love to see examples of your shots with them. smile

I have both and also use them together with strobe

It would be fun to have the old guys tell us about what they see in each of these lights and how they are to be used. Nice collection of tools.

Much of my work is done using hotlights (my port--row one, image two; row two, image three, row four image one, row five image two). They can be a bit harsh, as hotlights are often used without diffusion, but they're awesome for noir and other contrast-intensive work.
