I am fairly new to the hair styling for fashion, print, video, etc. thing (a little over a year), but I have been doing hair for years outsid of the fashion industry.  I think I have what it takes to flourish in the fashion industry as a hair stylist and I'd like to do runway shows, music videos, magazines....the whole nine...but, I'm having trouble getting my foot in the right door.  I have a photo shoot practically every week, but it never turns out the way I expect it to and they are rarely benefecial for my portfolio nor do they get my feet in the right entry-way to financial gain in this industry. 

Soooo,  how does a person get their foot in the right doors and get paid as a stylist because the TFP/TFCD thing is getting really old.
