An Interview with Photographer Arnold Newman
I must admit I'm still learning a lot about the "Great Ones". http://corporate.gettyimages.com/market … &gi=1&pg=1 Jun 28 05 08:14 am Link Jun 28 05 08:36 am Link How about you contact Mr. Newman and tell him that. Jun 28 05 09:15 am Link TY George enjoyed the read.Yeah Dude imagine that mo Photoshop..had to actually nail it right the first time in the camera.God I miss film lately :^) Jun 28 05 09:24 am Link Posted by George Butler: He was being facetious George Jun 28 05 05:02 pm Link What is interesting about the Getty site for the interview with Arnold Newman is that the photographs are all cropped the same. The original image of Stravinsky (with the piano) was a two-page spread. Here it has been cropped. What Newman has been famous for is his ability (like Bert Stern) to take out as much out of picture and still come up with the essence of the person being potographed. A photo by Newman today may not interest some who are used to special effects. Jun 28 05 06:02 pm Link Aaron..I hope you are not the only one who caught that... Jun 28 05 07:00 pm Link I caught it--got a good chuckle with the "diffuse glow" remark. How about a Newman portrait of JFK with a soft, gaussian blur to the skin?
