The one about do not entering and impaling with a rusty spoon.

The kitchen really.  Safety in numbers.

1a. What did you think of the food / food selection?
I'm another fan of Robb's noodles (Robb please tell your sister they were a big hit)

1c. Where did you hang out the most?
Mostly in the kitchen and upstairs (too crowded for any shooting)

2. Did you like the band? The music?
Unfortunately I missed hearing the band, we left about the time they were beginning to set up.

3. How do you feel about the setups of the shooting stations?
Good use of very limited space.  Also liked the portfolio table.

4. Would you be interested in a party in the middle of June?
Doubt I'd be able to make any summer events, too many other things going on.  February on the other hand would be great as there is nothing else going on then.

5. Would you be willing to pay a small cover charge to attend the next year's party? Up to how much will you be willing to pay?
$10 for photographers, nothing for models and wardrobe/clothing designers, and MUA's should be get some kind of compensation

6. What are some of your other suggestions to make the next one even better?
Name tags for photographers is a good idea

1a. What did you think of the food / food selection?

All very good. Loved the chili.

1b. What was your favorite sign in the house?

Close call between Klingon and "askew"

1c. Where did you hang out the most?

Kitchen and portfolio display areas. Didn't even know there was "upstairs" until late in the evening. I'm slow that way sometimes.

2. Did you like the band? The music?

Guess I'm getting old. Pretty good but a tad loud.

3. How do you feel about the setups of the shooting stations?

There to network more than shoot.

4. Would you be interested in a party in the middle of June?

Certainly!

5. Would you be willing to pay a small cover charge to attend the next year's party? Up to how much will you be willing to pay?

Willing to cough up $10

6. What are some of your other suggestions to make the next one even better?

Name tags would have been a help.

I only can answer 4 & 5, yes I would be interested in coming in June, the only reason I couldn't make last weeks one was because of finals, and yes I'd be willing to pay a cover charge of about $10.

since it seems everyones saying thier there mainly to network maybe forgo shooting stations hehe

really nothing wrong with taking a few pics with people that live too far away otherwise. While I wont do gang shooting, I'm not cool enough to leave the camera at home lol

I like doing abit of all three myself. Networking, shooting, and coffee drinking : )

everyone had a blast so even if nothing changed it's the place to be!

on the road near CLT's...I do drive by shooting haha

1a - Yummy, good selection
1b - the rusty spoon one
2 - they rocked

4 - yes
5 - yes.  About as much as a tank of propane costs smile
6 - name tags with people's MM handles and/or avatars, esp. for photographers.

I avoided the feeding frenzy earlier in the day, but got some great stuff in the 18+ area and in the main room later in the evening after a lot of folks had left.   More private shooting areas would be useful... even if you don't need privacy, maybe a rotation system so that models don't wind up with 10 versions of the same picture from 10 different photographers.  It seemed like people were more willing to change the lights in the 18+ area because they didn't have to worry about wrecking anyone else's shot.

A nice one from the 18+ area, with HippieChick: 18+, of course

Depending on what is going on in June, I'll try to come out for it.  Because of the drive, I'd probably have to spend the night, but at least you'd have free labor for a night!  And I'd have my wedding dress, so maybe we could get some cool shots with it!

6. What are some of your other suggestions to make the next one even better?

1a. More food please that is not KFC; Booze selection was good.
1b. The one in the bathroom.
1c. Changing room
2. Band was OK, I wish they hadn't taken up a shooting station because that made the lines longer.
3. I liked them. There was one that was kinda awkwardly placed- I don't remember which, but I couldn't get to the room with the portfolios without feeling like I was walking through it.
4. Yup, yup, Yup
5. A cover charge would be fine- but it should be waived for people who bring food, beverages, or massive amounts of wardrobe to share (like me).  Everyone should contribute something.
6. More variety in shooting stations; another bathroom, or signs leading to the one upstairs if it was public--I heard some people got in because they asked nicely.

1a. What did you think of the food / food selection?
It was good. Liquor selection was *AWESOME!* For some reason I was looking for cake though O.o?

1b. What was your favorite sign in the house?
Everyone already mentioned the ones I like. Either the Fiber sign, or the sign that was hung askew on purpose.

1c. Where did you hang out the most?
I would like to say the bar, but I got dragged into the garage and shot!
I hung out in front of the fireplace a lot towards the end of the night though.

2. Did you like the band? The music?
I really liked the band. The music was my exact taste, but a little loud.
The lead singer looked like a guy I dated in high school. Same crappy cut & color to his hair. It made me a little nostalgic :-)

3. How do you feel about the setups of the shooting stations?
Great variety! And it's not like any of us let a lack of station stop us from shooting. Maybe a second private station b/c the line was always there.

4. Would you be interested in a party in the middle of June?
Yes!

5. Would you be willing to pay a small cover charge to attend the next year's party? Up to how much will you be willing to pay?
Yeah, I think it would really help weed out anyone who be unprofessional in a party-killing way. I'd pay $5 no prob. I wanted to drop money in the jar this time, but I forgot my cash :-(

6. What are some of your other suggestions to make the next one even better?
People are saying name tags and another shooting station. Good ideas. Maybe a second changing room, so we're not all knocking elbows the whole time. Though that has more to do with the crazy huge turnout.

Ok... here are my thoughts after reading some of the answers from the survey:

* I will remove the kitchen table to make more room for the shoe pile, and move the "market table" there, as well as provide more "camera bag parking" in that section.

* I will still keep at least 2 free-for-all stations, because they are the essence of any M&G. I will open up 1 more "exclusive" shooting area similar to station 3. These two stations will require the photographer to purchase time slots (very low) for the use.

* If I end up placing a cover charge, people who made/brought food THIS time will get free pass to the next one, and/or get free slots at the exclusive stations.

* The bathrooms in Crash Zone 1 and the quiet room WERE open to public, I should have made that more publicly aware.

* I will open another room that's about 4 times the size of the changing room as the wardrobe styling room. And a big bathroom with 2 big mirrors for the makeup artists/bodypainters. But these rooms require some maintenance and may not be available by June.

* I need a dedicated food manager to keep the food flowing. I actually had more things prepared but never got around to serving them.

* My one concern about hosting a summer party is that I don't want people wandering off to neighbors' properties.

Just remind people that your neighbors are all heavily armed. The town isn't called Winchester for nothin.

HEY! I never gave you permission to go the the Egyptian room on the 4th level of the basement!

And now I see why there were heavy skin marks on Rachel's arms when I shot her naked in my room.

So THAT was the screwdriver that spent the day in the ringflash over by the window! We wondered about that, but obviously did not investigate it closely enough.
