Sorry Natalie I don't think anyone noticed your question, this thread gets buried pretty quickly.

Did you have a look on the front page to see if there were any mentors in your area? If there are none listed, maybe you could try messaging makeup artists in your area, see if they give one on one lessons, or need an assistant.
