Hello everyone! I am moving to NYC in 2 weeks.... i already have a job as a MUA for Clinique however i want to escape the corporate/retail world ASAP! I have been freelancing for a few years on my own but I am more than willing to assist, but i would love some input on how to get started in the big city!

Seriously - best desserts ever. Its all you need to survive the Big Apple.

....

Eh, I'm really no help, despite the fact that I practically live in NYC. I'd say you make it in NYC the same way you make it in every city: work hard, work lots advertise, contact agencies and artists, make lots of contacts, work on your portfolio, etc. etc.

In baseball there is an expression,  throwing the ball before you have caught it.

ENJOY the city for a little while,   Sure move on but some of the greatest times of many of my friends who have moved to NY are the first few weeks, months,  etc,

I am sure the expense of moving and a new apartment will be almost over whelming.

If you can do it all the more power to you but remember to have fun not just business.
The city is a great place to have the time of your life,  just do not play or enjoy too long.

Or you may be eating spam for dinner.
