Is 6'1 too tall for a female fashion model?
? I have friend she just turned 18 and is 120lbs. And is 6'1 is that too tall for a fashion model? She's not on MM but I'm asking here because I know there are a lot of industry proffesionals around here. Jan 16 09 07:18 pm Link KillerShotz Photography wrote: If she's fantabulous then she's 5'11". Jan 16 09 07:20 pm Link Gna is 6'1" and signed with a big agency. I'm guessing she'd rather be 5'11" though. (which her agency says\said she is) Jan 16 09 07:25 pm Link Disclaimer: I'm just a girl. Not an expert. My cousin is 6'1. She's gorgeous. There's no doubt in my mind she could model. If your friend is gorgeous/different, granted she can walk and pose and is driven to do it, there's no doubt in my mind she could model, too. Jan 16 09 07:29 pm Link Disclaimer: I'm just a girl. She just came to the united states from Puerto Rico. There's no such thing as fashion modeling in PR. Me and her were talking about it that maybe she should try it out. But we were wondering if it could be too tall. She has fantabulous legs that's for sure I'm jealous. Jan 16 09 07:46 pm Link Umm, the forums just decided to switch who I am, haha wtf? Jan 16 09 07:47 pm Link KillerShotz Photography wrote: Bad move. There are good agencies near you. Ask them. Jan 16 09 09:01 pm Link Idk.. I'm 6'1", but I'm not agency signed. I suppose I should get around to doing that lol Jan 16 09 09:32 pm Link 6'1 is pushing it but if she has the face she'll be perfect.. anything above 6'1 is a kill. the main reason agencies are so strict on sizes is that for such things as runway all the items are of the same size, so any girl who cant fit them wont get job. Jan 16 09 09:38 pm Link I am 6.1 and i did fine, but when i was actually working i felt i had to compensate by being very skinny to have small hips which is hard when youre tall. Plus my inseam is 34inches long, which is the norm for legs of a model who is 5.9, so I was lucky that way. Jan 16 09 09:40 pm Link Yeah you should take some Polaroids(you know... with a digital camera) and just talk to Maggie Inc down on Newbury st. Jan 16 09 09:45 pm Link I know several fashion models who are that tall. Your friend shouldn't let that stop her. Like people already have stated, go ask an actual agency. Jan 17 09 10:36 am Link I'm 6'1 but have big hips. My agencies never complained about my height, but they did about my hips. Conclusion; if the rest of the sizes are good she can model. Jan 18 09 10:07 am Link If she wants to model, have her go around to some agencies and find out firsthand. Jan 18 09 03:26 pm Link Not at all my good friend tiiu Kuik is 6'1 Jan 18 09 03:35 pm Link A-M-P wrote: Ann Ward is 6'2" Jul 09 11 01:01 pm Link she is very tall, just like trying to get a 5 foot 5 inch model signed it is not unheard of but very hard to do. The thing is, she isn't going to work outside a major market, so you should be sending her to NYC to see if she can get signed.
