Probably me, but I will need help. haha It is just whoever gets the idea for it. I wonder what the rules are for having it at Jullians or even outside by the waterside? I need to call...

Count me in But if you have it in Jillians they consider it a large party and add a 15% gratuity to all the tickets that's what happened to us last time. Have you thought of a date yet?

I have been wanting to see one down that way forever!
I know a ton of people from the DC area that would come. And you have a lot of amazing Models and Photographers down there!

Pick a date and location and get it rolling!

This is a wonderful idea.

I've been to a few meet and greets, but never one here in town. There are a lot of creative people in Hampton Roads. So, I'm sure the turn out would be great. smile

I've never been to Julian's. Does it have space so that photographers and models might shoot? I know a big part of the meet an greets is actually producing art as well as gaining some valuable connections. smile

It is by the waterside. So outside shooting is beautiful. There is a brick like open area with water behind it and great city like features. I have not heard back from the lady yet, I hope she does not blow me off. I will give it until Thursday to hear back from her.

Edit: As far as inside of Jullians that will be one of the questions I will grill her with. It will probably be on a weekend during the day, because most of the events (at Jullians) start at night. Most likely on a Saturday for those of you who have to travel.

Okay so here is the deal:
We can get a private room with two pool tables and a dining area, but it will cost me $125.00 an hour and the max is 2 hours. So, I would have to charge everyone at the door. Probably $5 per person.

Pros: Area for just models, photographers, mua's... and other people kept out.

Cons: It is expensive for me and it will not be free for you.

Or we could do the common area:

Pros: It is cheaper for everyone and more time everyone has together.

Cons: We will be more spread out and people will develop cliches. Other people who are not at the meet and greet will be around us.

I've been to enough public meets to know that it's not a problem. The only thing is there will be a lot of bystanders with their cell phone cameras snapping pictures of the models, especially if they are in bikini or lingerie.

hehe thanks. I really want everyone mingle and introduce themselves though. They have to wear name tags and bring their ports/business cards. I like the private room idea, but I think it would make people feel locked in and they couldn't leave to go shoot then come back without it being a hassle.

Please spread the word: There is no possible way I can find everyone and let them know.

I will be making a list soon of who is coming, so I can give her an estimate. I am leaning towards early november. I think there is just way too much going on in October and that is right around the corner anyway.

There is norfolk state park right by the zoo if you want to take a ride and shoot over there. If you take granby street all the way down away from the clubs and make a left it should be right there.

I think it would be worth paying the $5 or $10 to get a private room. Keep me updated.

Yeah... that would be mean everyone would have to show up close to on time. I say close because some of you might be traveling. I would love to have a more intimate setting at first, of introducing and getting to know each other. Then if we want to transition to the game area we can, or if anyone wants to go shoot they will be able to.

An Indoor general meeting place is a great idea, but there is too much to shoot in the area, well for us poor people that DON'T live next to the beach.

Try to find a location that has a lot of shoot locations in the area.
And is available until late, 10PM+

And pick a date and start a new thread before this one gets locked.

I vote for Oct. 31st or Nov. 14. but I'm guessing you aren't doing this on Halloween smile

I suggest getting the room so that its more organzied. People can still venture out. We should settle on $5 or $10 dollars per person and start collecting the money after the date and time is set so that the room is secured beforehand.

Those who prepaid should be on a list. Any late commers can pay at the door. Maybe $5 in advance, $10 at the door. Any surpluss of money can go to a discreet stamp so we know who's paid and who hasn't when people come and go. If there's any additional monies, maybe that can go to some light bar food.

I also suggest booking the room at an hour when its no longer enough light out to shoot. So ppl can arrive, meet in the common area, run around and do some shooting. Then when it becomes too dark to shoot we still have 2hrs of private time in the room for shooting/networking/eating etc.

And everyone wear a red hat so we know you're a part of the group lol jk.

EDIT::: We need to find out what the person capacity on the room is too so we don't have any confusions the day of.
