Oct 15 10 08:13 pm Link Re-submitting Sparrow, MM #1498383. I "met" her when she asked about nomination to this competition, and was referred to "The List" photographers in her area. I was planning a trip to LA a few weeks later so I contacted her and offered to shoot with her when I was in town. I'm glad that I did! Sparrow is a genuine delight with a sense for fashion and a very polished, classy presentation. She probably won't qualify as a "newbie" much longer. (My sincere apologies to all -- I messed it up last week and caused my original post to become hidden.) Model: MM#1776929 Karina Brow. Karina is an athletic and flexible model. She is beautiful, with naturally smooth skin. She knows where the lights are and needs little direction in posing, moves from one pose to another fluidly, has wide and free array of expressions without having to be constantly preoccupied with wardrobe malfunction, seems to know instinctively how to position her body with respect to the lights. She is very expressive. She is definitely not a clothes hanger. She conducted herself totally professionally, from being on-time, fully communicative, and friendly/approachable. I will cite one aspect that makes her stand out: After she started modeling two months ago, she started a "52 Challenge" project, where she plans to shoot with one photographer each week for one year; her journey is documented in the blog tab at http://knavekarina.com. She is quickly learning by leaps and bounds. I admire this level of determination, and I sincerely wish her success in modeling. I'm having a great month with two Newbies that were Intelligent, Early for the shoot, and a lot of fun to work with. The biggest problem I had was composing so that I could take advantage of her height as best I could. If this were Vegas, I'd have to think about taking my chips and going home because a lucky streak like this can't hold out that long....but one never knows.    Thank you for your consideration. Our first shoot actually took over a year to coordinate between her school and my work schedules, but it was well worth the wait! We shot nine looks in about six hours, and over 90% of the photos were "keepers". Michelle was very comfortable on set, and took direction well. She did her own hair and makeup. Teri is only 18-years old, and had done only one shoot before producing the images you see here. Teri hails from McMinnville, Tennessee where she attended Warren County High School. While a student there, she was an active member of HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) where she volunteered her time and talents helping the less-fortunate in need of quality health care. We actually met (unscheduled) at a music video shoot a few days before our session and hit it off immediately. We shot eleven looks in about seven hours, including a trip to one of San Francisco's freezing beaches. Mya did her own hair and makeup, and all photos presented here are unretouched.
