I really hate the "girl with long hair flipping her head back and capturing the stream of water flying in a beautiful arch" but not because it is a cliche...It's cuz my girlfriend died doing this cuz we had been drinking and after the 32nd take she got wicked dizzy and fell in and hit her head on a rock and drowned. The floating face down in the stream shot looked really cool though.

Wow,really? or are you kidding?

A still of that I want to see as well. In BW with a slight sepia tone.

Just have to combine a cliche with a non-cliche. Like a nude strutting down a runway, or a fine art b&w image taken on RR tracks in moonlight, or a model (one that's expendable) suspended by the neck from a lamp post by caution tape in beautiful sunset lighting.

;-)

It's funny. I never liked angel wings. Not my thing. But, we ended up doing a few of them anyway. We tried to be a bit different with our approach to such a cliched concept.

Has anyone tried a girl wearing angel wings, her breasts covered by caution tape, who is standing in an abandoned building, with train tracks running nearby?

Believe it or not, it's actually not an "M" its a "V". Mind boggling right? They're Evisu jeans, and the logo is just a very shallow "v"

Recently I was wondering about the origin of some of these cliche shots. It like anything else I guess, I probably never really learn but it would be neat to find out. Who decided a girl standing on railroad tracks is hot? Boggles me a bit...

I didnt read every entry but one that gets me is the heel caught in the thong while said thong is more or less where it should be. Again, who came up wit that? Has that ever happened naturally?

Yet another bizarre photo that has no appeal to anybody, but is made for the sole purpose of being "original" and not cliché.

It's kind of like the singer who sings horribly out of key, because they want to have a unique style.

Then it's not a cliche - it's a postmodern commentary on the changing role of gender ikons characterised on one hand by her being nude and the other her playing a traditionally male instrument.

Don't ask if someone else listed something.  It's your damned thread!  Read it!

You started this thread over a year ago and it has been dormant for a year.  There have been several similar threads in the 16 months since you started this one.

Did you REALLY think this needed a bump??

What, do the whole cliched list?  Challenge Accepted!

Actually, it seems a decent list for either fall back ideas or as starting points for new photogs.
