Yes, there is a museum that caters to this stuff.  I have a few painted pieces I need to submit:

"Eileen" was stolen from an exhibit:

I lost the worst of my paintings during a best friend divorce.

I need it back so I can be featured.

The picture, painted with oil on canvas, featured a big tit nude blonde woman wearing go-go boots.  I can't draw hands, so I made her hand into a giant olympic torch.

If anyone wants to convince my ex best friend to give it back, I can PM you.

Yay!  I kinda like the art too...no art is bad art.  If it can be appreciated to some degree, it's worth it.

Most of this stuff was salvaged from dumpsters and thrift stores:

All I know is just the concept alone is one of the more brilliant presos of Art...

I have been to the Museum, it's just about 8 miles south of where I live. It's awesome.

I've been thinking of submitting a piece. I need to take a picture of it. I bought it for $5.00 from a guy at a storage unit auction. He won the storage unit, and I asked him if I could have the art.

It's a velvet painting of a kid wearing Re-run (from What's Happenin') clothes and mirror shades, sitting on a three-wheeler with his fist in the air. It's fucking awesome.

This is a GREAT book
http://www.amazon.com/Thrift-Store-Pain … 929&sr=8-1

I saw a show of thrift store paintings in the 80's at Metro Pictures Gallery that aritst Jim Shaw curated. It was incredible and very well received at the time.

Been here in real life...this an awful awakening from a peaceful nap by Victoria, the rabid Dachshund.  May she rest in peace:
