I'll do your best and worst; or, if there's something else you want to know, ask me.

Rebecca Evans wrote: Yes, please. Best: You chose the perfect avatar; this catches my attention right away. Very strong headshot, in my opinion. Lovely eyes. Great image, overall. Worst: There's nothing eye-popping about this one. You look a bit bored, lighting is nothing special...it's just a dull photo, I think. You can afford to toss it. I like you. You have a good variety in your portfolio, and some great images. Some are not so great, but I feel the strong ones make up for them. And as you go on, you'll probably weed out the not-so-magical pictures and replace them with killer ones. Keep at it.

Thank you for the input, much appreciated. I do have other work but I deleted them because I'm updating my port with glamour. Here are other examples of my work if you want to look. https://www.modelmayhem.com/list.php?list_id=294740 --William Lauren A Farrington wrote:

NN Star Photography wrote: me? w00t for female photographers. Best: Love the eye contact. It also looks to be well exposed. Me thinks it would look pretty spectacular in b&w, as well. Worst: Your model is lost within all the hustle and bustle of the reflections. I'm not a fan of the super narrow crop, either. You can do better. Your newer stuff shows the most potential [1, 3, 4]; keep on keepin' on, and you'll continue to improve.

Brandenburg wrote: Sure - hit my page one! TY Best: I really love the strong shadows on this one, and the accentuation of her neck and collarbones...it's magnificent. I also like the little glimmer of her earring. Worst: https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … up_id=&ua= Where you were headed with this could have been really interesting, but I feel the execution isn't really up to par. It's not a really flattering angle for the model, and I'm not sure the sugar on the lips works in this situation-though I get the insinuation; candles, sugar, cake...I see it. But you have better. You have a great grasp of lighting, and your bodyscape-y stuff is really beautiful. I think some of your best work is in black and white-at least judging from your first page. Great variation; I like it.

Marissa Leigh Dornian wrote: Me! Best: The lighting really works for you in this one. Worst: This feels senior portrait-y to me. You could lose it, once you have more/better images to replace it with. You're off to a decent start; all I can really tell you is to keep shooting, and maybe try some more inventive posing. If it feels stupid or awkward, it probably looks cool on camera. You could try some stuff in the mirror, too. Try expanding your arsenal of facial expressions and such. With experience will come improvement. Best of luck to you, dear.

The Photo Chase wrote: If you would be so kind... You know, that makes me want to be mean to you, just because you presume I'll be nice. Just kidding. Best: It's a good start. Good lighting, good expression on the model-with a little post work (color tweaking and maybe a tad bit more contrast) this could be really killer. Worst: Too much contrast. And it looks like a behind the scenes snapshot. It would do you good to narrow down your portfolio to a page or so. You should try to pick one image from each shoot, instead of having repeats. You confuse me, a little; some of your images have too much photoshop ( https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … up_id=&ua= ) and some don't have enough, or aren't tweaked in the right ways ( https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … up_id=&ua= ). I think as you keep shooting, and continue editing, [as does everyone] you'll improve. As it is now, you have a few winners in there, but a lot of photos are the same thing, just done with a different model. Downsize and weed out the weaker images, and I think it'll help a lot in terms of improving the atmosphere of your port. Just keep working, and feel free to experiment.

Ok, I'll go easy on you. Best: The lighting flatters you. The windy hair bit is good, too. Expression is a little weak, but better than most of your port. Worst: Looks like a snapshot. All I can advise is this: practicepracticepracticepractice. Try out new poses and expressions in the mirror. Hell, I do that, and I'm not even a model! Flip through magazines, mark the pages of the poses you like, and imitate them. With practice makes perfect, as they say. That's what'll do you best; practice and gaining experience. For your avatar, I'd say the photo I chose as your best. It's compelling from afar and I would be much more likely to click on your profile if that image was your avatar, and not your current one.

The MakeUp Messiah wrote: yes Messiah, huh? Well, I expect a lot from you now, miss. Best: I adore the eyeshadow. The look as a whole is cohesive; you chose a great color palette and it looks smashing on the model. Worst: While I like the eyes...I don't like how only parts of her face are golden. From far away, it looks like a terrible terrible photoshop job. Upon closer inspection, I have a hard time deciding whether or not it actually works... Not really a fan. You need more photos, givrly. I like what you have up though, shows you have creativity and versatility. And that's very important for a MUA.

A lot of your photos seem like candids, the lighting is flat in many of them...all of this is about trial and error and experience. Keep shooting, and I hope to see your work blow me out of the water someday.

Worst: I don't feel this is really flattering to the model, and it lacks interest, in my opinion. A lot of your photos feel underprocessed to me, and I'm not personally a fan of frames around digital images. You work well with natural light, though.

I feel there's nothing really special in this image. You can do better. Good grasp of lighting, I say. You do beauty shots very well. Take more risks, though. Try some more extreme concepts, maybe. Shock me. Because a lot of your port is very generic. I believe you have the skill, now use it to create something unique and memorable. Like the photo I selected as your best. Do more stuff like that.
