Background is distracting. I think you need to shoot more. Also I would suggest laying off the blur a bit. In some of your photos, like the first one, it's a bit too much and it turned me off, honestly. Just be careful of your post work, and don't be afraid to up the contrast a smidge (like in the photo I picked as your best. A tad bit of contrast enhancement could make it pop more).

Harley Hunter wrote: 3 please Do you reckon I'd do better modeling in somewhere like Hong Kong/Asia in general because of my height? I've noticed a lot of agency represented girls of the same height in this area of the world thank you x Probably. But are they asian? You might not fit the mold if you're of the wrong ethnicity. Because of where you come from, they might expect you to be taller. I'm not incredibly familiar with agencies, and definitely not asian agencies, so there's a good chance I have no idea what I'm talking about. I can tell you, however, that I'm not sure you're ready to pack up and fly out there, just yet; firstly, you're 17. And secondly, you still have some improving to do. This:
best represents your potential as a model. This:
does not. I recommend working on it until your portfolio is full of strong images. So far, you have about two that would make me book you. Your portfolio makes you come off as slightly inconsistent; as if those two good pictures were possible flukes. But I see something in you, so I advise you to keep on shooting. The more you shoot, the more you'll improve. Best of luck to you. ![smile](//assets.modelmayhem.com/images/smilies/smile.png)

It doesn't fit the rest of your portfolio, and it's more of a snapshot than anything else. Thanks; but this isn't a project, haha. I just like to look at other people's work and offer whatever advice I can. I just gave the options because I feel 'best and worst' gets redundant. Though that's what everyone seems to want..so whatever. I'll oblige.

It seems to me you're new at this. The best advice I can give you is practice. Mimic expressions and poses in the mirror and just work on being more comfortable in front of the camera. Thankyou for your advice! I am new to this I agree, I do need to be more confident and comfortable in front of the camera.. once again, thankyou Vasiliky

I'll take number 3: How do you rate my work on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being lousy, and 10 being top-rate pro.

Thanks for your opinions. I've only been shooting for 1 year now (almost to the day). You're right, I really don't do any post. I don't know how to use Photoshop, so use Lightroom and an HDR program. I guess I need to learn PS. I view post processing to be basically necessary; not to say you need to glitz up your photos to the point of tackiness, but they need a little extra pop. Photoshop or not, it doesn't really matter; I use a free program I snagged from the internet. Just something to make them stand out more, you know?

I posted the sports one as your worst, because I feel the other of this series is stronger. I guess you could also say I'm a bit biased towards sports stuff; I've never really been a fan of it. But this photo just doesn't say much to me whether or not I like fitness photos. It's a bit uninteresting and plain. If sports modeling isn't a focus of yours, then yes, I would suggest removing them. They are fairly well taken, but don't fit with the rest of your portfolio. If you want to land more fashion/commercial stuff, then take out the fitness. But if like doing fitness stuff, you should probably add some more of it.
