I would like to honestly know what my fellow mmers think about my post work. thanks ccretouch Mar 10 10 11:55 pm Link Overall, you really have some skill! It's clear that you know HOW to do things. However, I do have problems with some edits. ![]() ![]() The pictures above are the ones that stick out most to me. Now, in terms of skill, you really can edit images well without everything looking all smudgy and messy. In terms of aesthetics and style, I think you're doing too much. In the picture on our left, the shape of her face is changed sooooo much, that the anatomy is almost starting to not make sense. I mean, she looks anorexic! ![]() In the photo of the man, it looks like you just mirrored the right side of his face. Instant creepiness right there. The human face is NEVER perfectly proportionate, so when you mirror a face, it usually ends up looking kinda weird. VERY rarely does it "work." He's smirking in the original, it would have been better to work around that instead of changing the emotion. Despite being kinda weird edits, they're still done "well." We know you know how to edit, but the wrong things are being edited, if that makes sense. ![]() ![]() These ones are my favorites! Perfect! Mar 11 10 03:42 am Link see this is why i posted this i really like to hear what people say so i can improve. comments dont tell you anything really. thanks so much keep them coming Mar 11 10 10:06 am Link oh and on the asian girl i was just trying to show how much i could change a person with the skills i have . Mar 11 10 10:08 am Link My personal philosophy on retouching is "Tell me a lie and try to get away with it" I think you're technically very good. I would love to see a retouch in your port where I would ask, "Does she really have skin that good? Are her eyes really that deep, rich green/blue/brown?" In other words, an image that when compared side-by-side with the original that I would have to deconstruct and figure out what draws my eyes to edited image. As a photographer hiring out to an artist I would want the finished product to be examined by other photographers who say things like, "Amazing lighting/model choice/color filters/etc." Not necessarily "Who does your editing?" As you can see this is probably one of my first post here, and I wouldn't have bothered if I didn't think that you were talented. Just some thoughts from someone who prefers a weird in-between from fashion/beauty and reality. Mar 18 10 06:37 pm Link |
