then again I don't like how the image looks with minor skin retouching I'm still not satisfied I want that perfect skin but my D&B techniques sucks and everything else I try looks like crap as well.

Example

D&B example I pretty much sucked since I don't know how to do it very well I still feel it feels too rough.

unretouch shot from same session. What my image looks like before any processing.

I feel that the images look way too rough I want something more smooth soft looking I'm more into the surreal style CGI type of looks I just don't know how to achieve it. I feel the texture on the skin is too hard. I don't know if  I make any sense lol this images have not been sharpened or anything like that.

example of style of retouching I will like to achieve

First one looks like a good start to me...just needs more detail work.

Spend another 6 hours on it and report back big_smile

How could you do that to that beautiful image???????!!!!!!

Angela, your first one is on the right track. Except for the lips. You removed EVERY line. Retouching is not always about riddance.

I love the styling tho. Love it.

Wavelet decompose the image - aka, work with spatial frequencies. Use healing brush everywhere on the face at the frequency corresponding to the outside of the pores. You end up with smaller pores.

Here is a 100% crop of my before and after.

What can I say, I'm the mangler.  I was confused about the lips too, but it appears that how the models lips actually look. I think they are really dry. Thats how my lips look before they are about to start peeling.

Thanks smile

Yeah I know the lip looks horendous like a patch Oh god what was I thinking I was trying smooth here dry lips lol I'm about to start over again. I want my retouching to enhance not destroy so far I feel like I'm destroying it instead of making it look better. I feel as it looks quite patchy and it does not flow well together. I just get so frustrated that I don't know if what I am doing is correct, I mean I'm pretty damn critical and feel like I'm missing something  when I'm retouching, I think I just need to concentrate harder I really feel the retouching it's what it's making my images look mediocre.

they look really nice, especially the second
you missed some parts of the skin, and the lips of the second look a bit too smooth, but it still looks really nice.
I have the same problem , I just started db too and my techniques are really not great,a and end up with rough skin with huge pores that i hate :@ tongue
