How to improve this already retouched picture?
Hey guys! This is a shot from my most recent shoot. I'm actually rather proud of it, but I would like to send it in for competition. Is there anything that you would do to make this better then it already is? (: (unless u think that it sucks, then well... shit.) ![]() Apr 07 10 06:38 am Link It could use some careful contouring, texture (detail) and contrast work. its a bit flat right now. its missing the final step that an image has to go through which is style ![]() Apr 07 10 08:47 am Link I agree with Koray, the image does seem a bit flat. Some contrast work would give it more of a pop IMO. Apr 07 10 12:56 pm Link Gotta agree with Koray as well... Apr 07 10 01:36 pm Link Make it look more 3 dimensional with curves. Apr 07 10 05:56 pm Link it needs some D&B contouring to make it look more 3dimensional and less flat. Apr 07 10 06:29 pm Link What everyone else said. To give you an idea, I did some quick stuff to show you... Yours ![]() Redone ![]() Apr 08 10 07:43 am Link ... Apr 08 10 08:49 am Link MysticM wrote: Coming along nicely now. I hope this still considered a critique.... Apr 08 10 10:16 am Link Hey guys! Thanks for all these critques and demos! I tried to listen to all of you and this is my retouched.. retouched picture. (: ![]() What do you guys think? I'm still not sure if it'll win me the competition. I kinda really need to win it cause.. I don't have a camera, sick of borrowing them, and the competition's prize is a camera.. >.< oh and haha, the jacket belonged to the female stylist, couldnt find a guy rockish jacket in time. Apr 10 10 09:22 pm Link ![]() im just bored. her legs kinda bug me...look very awkward (just my personal preference). Apr 10 10 11:36 pm Link Since the original is so flat, the lighting is not going to do you any favours, I'd make a virtual copy in LightRoom and start hacking to the bleeding edge until you find something nifty. Applying dodge and burn will help but there just isn't enough base material to keep it real. Well that is if you like some reality in images, not all do.
