This is my first photo manipulation done ever. It took about 2-3 hours to complete.

Technically it isn't a model, but I had a lot of fun doing it. The only thing I would change myself is to make the one waterfall less blue, and make the other one more dimensional. Other comments are welcomed. Thanks.

(if this would be better suited in a different formus please move it)

alright for a first one

Some things to take into account with surreal pieces:
* Perspective
* Colors
* Blending
* Composition

Personally with pieces like that if the blending isn't spot on its a disaster. So the castles are all different colors, the blending in the hands, waterfalls needs work etc but like I said its good for a first one, just hammer away and practice :-)

+1 and also the waterfall from the hands should be at the lowest point as thats how water would flow over... the blending is really obvious right now with soft unrealistic edges but not bad keep it up

Good idea. As others have said blending is key I too need to work on my technique.

I am impressed.  If something that good is your first try, you are going to do some great work as you improve.

aww thankies. ^_^

I am more into photography, but I want to be able to edit and do some amazing things with my own images instead of hiring others to do it.

What I would say /\
and also look to the lighting. The thing that I noticed right off...
sunlight above and to the right (see shadows on clouds) and the highlight on the left arm... with light from below and to the right.

I'd also offer this:
with this kind of image the goal is not make us belive...
but to let those that will, suspend disbelief and imagine.
