I did my first workshop this past weekend, and here is my first attempt at retouching the shot in photoshop.

I adjusted the color with the curves. I then removed blemishes, gave the eyes a bit more light, and smoothed the skin.

My questions are
1. How did I do with what I did?

2. What might I have done that I did not?

I opened the link to check this out and my eye immediately went to her bellybutton, i find the shape of it very distracting....

Good retouch for a first attempt though!! Kudos!!

Would it help if I did a bit of clone to make the belly button more round than oval like it is?

probably, i dont usually agree with changing the natural features of a model (such as face shape/body shape...or in this case belly button shape!) but i think in this instance it would improve the overall photo.

Yea I got the image thing was not sure if bbcode worked or not.
