From age 14 until just a few years ago, my go-to, everyday shoes were a pair men's jump boots. The boots finally wore out after 14 years and I haven't been able to find replacements in Army surplus stores. I've been wearing chucks instead.
I still wear girl shoes to the office, but never over 3" because it's too impractical. And I never, ever under any circumstances wear stilettos in real life.
P.S. I don't carry purses in winter, either. Because I have coat pockets.
P.P.S. I only wear make up for shoots and nights out. Never during the day without monetary compensation. People who need more than 15 minutes to get ready on a daily basis infuriate me.

I miss her. I walked with her to the store once and she went out in the middle of the day with a skyscraper set of heels, her everyday heels. I'll never forget the looks we got and the sense of pride from being at her side.
