Post your Tear-Sheets! (digital or traditional)
Idea borrowed from the model forum. Let's celebrate your success, show us your wonderful tear sheets, in time it will be great to see each others progress. (digital is fine, of course) Go for it! Photographers are very welcomed and encouraged, as long as you did the post-production work (as to keep it on topic). Aug 12 10 09:56 pm Link Let me be the first then. My most recent, did both the post and photography: Aug 12 10 11:22 pm Link Argh!! Why did you open this thread so early?? I'm getting my first tearsheet in September or October Aug 12 10 11:25 pm Link See the problem for us with publications is actually getting the photographers to send you the tearsheet!!! (hint to photographers) Aug 12 10 11:34 pm Link Eva Ubani wrote: If the photographer sends you the tearsheet, and somehow it gets shown in the public before the publication released? The photographer will be in big trouble. He probably won't be working in the commercial field anymore. Aug 12 10 11:47 pm Link Chuckarelei wrote: Make sure he's hydrated? He's currently selling them both while on tour with Al. I don't have photos of the other CD yet, but more angles and digital art files are on my Facebook page. I also did the package design for AlFest 2009, where I was the event photographer. AlFest was a fan-run convention for Weird Al fans. Many copies were sold, and even Al himself as one. Eva Ubani wrote: +1 Aug 16 10 12:03 pm Link Just curious -- all those tearsheets are copyrighted work -- sometimes belonging to multiple owners. For example, the photographer generally owns the copyright of the image or images shown, and then the magazine owns the copyright on the story or layout. The photographer probably has no ability to grant usage rights to the magazine layout, and the magazine publisher does not necessarily have the rights to let you use the photographer's work in this manner. Has everyone posting them received explicit permission to publish the works here, or are you working under a theory that this usage constitutes fair use, or. . . ?
