I know they're out there and I can remember what they are.  I was looking of the forums but I cant find any other info.  What are the other sites out there which are similar to model mayhem?

The problem with other modeling sites is they are small and with few active community, so i don't think they could be considered real alternative at MM.
However you can try them the same, especially if you meet on this small forum some photographers on your area, perhaps you could obtain some opportunities given that someone prefer small community at big community as MM.

There are some US models on Pure Storm but I think it's mainly used by models and photographers in the UK.

I just tried it and its off the chain. Has a video section and a search feature that shows a map with all the members close to your area. Some people might have issues with knowing your place of residence- I just put the city where I am located. Unfortunately, it ends up being how many members are active on the site. The numbers are really low so MM still will out benefit other websites even tho its not the best web design. 2 cents

I was model #3793 on that place.... ahhhh... those were the days.

I just went there today and all I could think is -

1) who the heck needs 350+++ images in their portfolio - 20 great images are better than 300 mediocre ones with a few gems that are hidden - and I wont search for

2) WHY is the portfolio with said 350+++ pictures on the FRONT PAGE which make the pages take forever to load?

I'll never go back there....

One can only recommend a site like OneModelPlace if you have extra cash to burn, with not a great deal of expectancy for any sort of return on investment.

I recommend (and hopefully it's not already there) musecube.com

what was once a great place 6-7 years ago is now in ruins. My last year membership was free and when I declined the following year after several emails they took my port down that day.

Yes Purestorm is quite big in the UK, and Purple Port is getting a lot of new faces. Netmodel has probably had its day now.

istudio.com copies your MM port directly without any work on your part and sets it up as a clone, plus gives you 100 free photo slots.  No Nigerian scammers to speak of, so don't have to worry about saying something politically incorrect and getting brigged.

www.StarStudioModels.com also will copy your MM port directly without any work on your part and sets it up as a clone, plus gives you 200 free photo slots. No llimit on how many messages send to other members per day.

Free membership with no upgrade needed.

The same here; No moderators to speak of, so don't have to worry about saying something politically incorrect and getting brigged.
