We prefer all our models to have a bit of bush and it says in our assignment description.  If they show up with not enough, we have our MUA pencil in some for the television work.  I'm old fashioned I suppose.  I think it compliments the female form.  Absence of anything down there looks weird to me.

My feeling that pubic hair is more artistic (whatever that means) and shaving is being fuelled by models catering to photogs seeking the "barely legal" look, which I find quite unappealing.

I prefer my models to have full pubic hair.

I have a casting call up, in fact.

If any Toronto area models, or travellers see this, please get in touch.

I've shot with four models from Toronto.  Three had full bush, and the other apparently does now.  It shouldn't be tough.

Moderator Warning!
This is somewhat of a hairy situation to make a call on.

I'm going to allow this thread to stay open since it may serve some lofty artistic expression purpose but I am moving it out of the industry forums and to off-topic.

Deciding that a thread has to be moved from one forum to another after a full month ....

well ... the mind wobbles.

More seriously, did you ever see a Helmut Newton photograph in which the model was shaved?

I like the model to have pubic hair for the same reason I prefer her not to have tattoos or unnatural color to her hair: I like to shoot naturalistic type things, so the more "natural looking," the better.

Having said that, there's not much that's a deal-breaker, and I've happily shot with unshaven, tattooed, and purple-haired models.

So what do you think about Pubic Hair?  Do you prefer it or not?

I don't like pubic hair. Not personally and not as a photographer. I happen to think that it obscures the view of the beautiful architecture. That's just me.

I don't know why people look down on women who shave it completely (just like I don't get why people look down on those who don't shave it; personal preferences).

At first, I hated fully shaved women. I think my objection was simply that it suggested youth and I wasn't comfortable with the "little girl look." These days, shaved labia and mons are the norm on fully adult women, so I don't have that distaste anymore and the look is attractive to me.

That said, for photographic purposes, there is a lot to be said for a nicely trimmed pubic area. For one thing, it allows for some poses that might otherwise look too explicit, if not for a little cover that the hair provides.

I guess my view on this subject is that both can work and a few more models with some pubic hair would be nice.

I can agree with this. While I don't look down on shaven women (or men) pubic regions, my personal preference is to leave some there. I don't see the point in spending my spare time completely getting rid of that hair, especially when it creates so much discomfort later. I was also insecure about that region of mine in my youth and have come to feel more comfortable with it a little covered. As a figure art model, I find it is good to have a more natural and simple look.

Uh, wow. Ignorant much?

I shave. I don't think I look "barely legal". Why? I have hips, which little girls don't have.

I got a message today from a Photographer saying that "a sort by location would be better in my search."  So... I have re-sorted this compiled list of Models who normally have Pubic Hair by first by Location and then Alphabetically.

I have also added a couple of new Models that were submitted as well.
