Dec 27 10 11:09 am Link How does that happen? 17 gigapixels? Dec 27 10 11:11 am Link Holy Crap, Batman....that's a lot of detail!!! It's a stitched panorama shot with a long lens.... Granted it's thousands of images stitched together, it just takes time and patience.... Dec 27 10 12:18 pm Link Great resolution on a pretty lame image... Still impressive. The guy in blue at :40 sec needs a shave... Dec 27 10 03:51 pm Link It's actually surprisingly easy to make these and not super expensive either (assuming you either have or can rent the gear). My last gigapixel I did (5 gigapixel to be exact) was done using the following setup: Canon 5D Mark II Canon 100-400mm @ 400mm Gigapan Epic Pro (motorized head, can rent for cheap, or buy for about $800) AutoPano Giga (auto-stitching app) That same day, I also shot a 25 gigapixel one from the roof of my building in San Francisco, but unfortunately not had time to process it yet. The one trick I'd recommend is making sure you really nail your focus (it makes a big difference in the final product) and make sure the air is as clear as possible (issue for those of us in San Francisco). Dec 27 10 03:56 pm Link They miss the guy do his bathroom thing at near bottom right. Too bad, they guy missed the spot completely. It's a joke, fellas. Do go and look for the guy. Dec 27 10 04:13 pm Link That's nothing - below is a 300 gigapixel photo of a white rabbit sleeping in front of a snow bank at high noon (shot at f2.8, 5 minute time exposure): Pretty impressive resolution huh? Dec 27 10 04:23 pm Link Well, that's all very comforting. Dec 27 10 04:23 pm Link Has anyone done one of these with exposure bracketing for true HDR? Dec 27 10 11:44 pm Link |
