Would any of the Model Mayhem photographers (or models just starting to pick up a camera) be interested in a lighting and nudes workshop?

The workshop will include eight hours of instruction divided between four two hour sessions. Sessions will include use of photography studio, instruction on and use of professional strobe lighting, mono lights, hot lights, and backdrops. The sessions will also include up to four workshop hours of one on one model photography.

Workshops size will be small... maximum of four workshop members in any session.

Dates have been changed to the evenings of the 7th and 8th and the mornings of the 9th and 10th of September.

I'm sorry I missed it too.  I had fully intended to come, however had to wait for someone showing me a new house.  Unfortunately by the time I was done looking at the house, and being across town, I just couldn't make it.

Here I guess... I have put out a casting call and gotten some good responses.  If you know any, I'm looking to do this pretty often.

This isn't going to be a freebie thing on James' dime though unfortunately...I'd like to do this pretty regularly and I'm planning on the models and lights and backdrop etc to be paid for, as well as regular guest teachers and speakers etc.

I'm thinking around $350/person will cover the costs and the models.

So anyone else interested?  Is the cost too high?  We could probably knock it down a bit by adding a couple more people to the workshop and reducing one on one shooting time.

Well this is the high price, one on one learning session version.

There's also the low price ($40/per person) portfolio builder, which can be found here: https://www.modelmayhem.com/posts.php?thread_id=67216

Two different meet-ups for two different purposes.

I don't think you'd be learning anything from *me* Kevin, but there's some people (even amongst my own collective) who *could* learn a few things, or have issues that they'd like to spend a couple of hours ironing out.

That's what this is for.

$350 for 8 hours and one on one model session is a good price point. Six class members would be good.

Hi James!
Oh, I'd absolutely be interested in this!!!! Please keep me posted!  I will be away until the 25th of August (going on vacation), but anytime after this, I am available most days/evenings!

(PS: I'd be interested in this as both model AND photographer.  For pricing, I am on a VERY limited budget and this might be my only problem, but if the group would like to use me as a model, I'm game.)

I also joined the group, but as I said previously, I can't make the Aug./Sept. sessions (going on vacation to Alaska!) - but if you ever schedule another one (or postpone this one, due to lack of participants), I'm definitely interested in attending!

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.  I'll definitely always post to MM's events forum to keep the MM folks up to date, but if you'd like to get an e-mail, it's easy to sign up for meetup.com and get the notifications.

Ken, I know you're a member already, but for those of you that aren't go to http://photo.meetup.com/483/

I'll see you in October Denis!

It will most likely be taught by both me and Karl Seifert.
